New chairman appointed to lead Maidenhead Care
Mary Forrest welcomes John Robertson
John Robertson MBE has been appointed as the new chairman to
lead Maidenhead Care, a charity providing Good Neighbour help
and practical support for the elderly, unwell or disadvantaged
people of Maidenhead.
John was past president of the Newspaper Society, now the News
Media Association, the organisation which represents the UK's local
and regional newspapers and for the last six years he has been a
trustee of the Louis Baylis (Maidenhead Advertiser) Trust. He was
appointed MBE in 2006 for services to the newspaper industry.
John takes over the role previously held by Mary Forrest who
remains as Vice Chairman. Announcing the appointment, Mary
says: “John has a wealth of experience across the financial,
industrial and charitable sectors, and this knowledge and
experience will enable him to lead the charity and ensure it can
continue to provide much needed support for the people of Maidenhead.”
John who lives in Maidenhead with his wife, adds: "I am delighted to have been
appointed as the new Chairman of Maidenhead Care. It is an exciting time to be
joining the charity as it is doing more now than ever before to help people in need. I look
forward to working with all the enthusiastic Care trustees and volunteers and making a
difference to those who need our help.”
